The easiest way to get started is to contact me via email. I will send you a brief form to complete and return to me. This allows me to verify some key pieces of information (e.g. location, insurance). If we are clear to move forward, the next step is to schedule a free video consultation. 

After you schedule the free consultation, be on the lookout for an email from me.  In this email, you’ll receive a link to your Client Portal.  This is where you’ll receive new client documents, sign forms, and fill out paperwork that is important to your treatment.  The email will also include a link to join your video appointment. For the consultation itself we’ll have 15 minutes to discuss your needs, answer questions, and determine if we want to move ahead with setting up your first “official” appointment.

You may want to download the Telehealth by SimplePractice app.  This is a free, secure, HIPAA-compliant Android and iPhone app. If you prefer not to use the app for your video sessions, you can join via the SimplePractice website.

If you contact me at my business email (not through SimplePractice), you may notice some differences in how the email response looks. This is because I use Hushmail, which is secure and HIPAA-compliant.  You don’t need to have a Hushmail account of your own to benefit from the encryption that it provides. You may see an email with a link – “Read your secure email.”  This will take you to a secure web page, where you’ll be instructed to create a password.  Save this password, because you’ll use it to securely read any future encrypted messages from me.
